Terms of use
These terms cover this site, which is a guide to the market, and the market itself, which is the .onion address. The distinction matters, because the fine print for a guide and the fine print for a marketplace are not the same thing, and this page keeps the two separate.
What this site is
This site is a clearnet reference for reaching BlackOps Market. It lists current onion addresses, publishes guides, and keeps a journal of notes about how the market behaves. It does not hold your balance, it does not take your payment, and it does not run the escrow. The marketplace is the .onion address, and this site is the map to it. When these terms say "the market," they mean the marketplace on Tor. When they say "this site," they mean the pages you are reading now.
What the market charges
The market takes a flat commission on each sale, currently 3%, and the commission is deducted from the order at settlement. There is no fee to browse and no fee to register. Vendors set their own prices, and the commission is the market's only standing cut. The commission can change, and a change is announced on the market before it takes effect, so the number on this page is the number for now, not a promise about forever.
What you are agreeing to
By using the market you agree that the orders you place are governed by the listing you bought from, that the escrow holds your payment until the order resolves, and that a dispute is the mechanism for a disagreement. You also agree that the market's decisions on disputes are final, which is a fair term, because the alternative is that there is no end to a disagreement, and no marketplace can run on disagreements that never close. The terms are short on purpose, because a term you have to read three times to understand is a term you will not follow.
The liability, honestly stated
The market is not liable for the contents of a listing beyond what the listing states, and it is not liable for a vendor's failure to ship, which is a vendor matter handled through the dispute process. The market is liable for the escrow, which is the one thing it holds and the one thing it has to account for. That division is the whole liability model in one paragraph, and it is the reason the escrow is the part of the market that is worth the most trust, because it is the part where the market's money is on the line alongside yours.
Changes and termination
These terms can change, and a change is posted on this page with a date before it takes effect. Your account on the market can be closed for cause, which means a pattern of behavior that broke the terms, and the closing is announced to you before it happens, with a window to respond. Termination of an account is not the same as termination of a balance, and a balance that is in escrow at the moment of a closing is settled on the normal timeline, so a closing does not strand money that is mid-order.
The market on Tor has its own terms and its own privacy policy, and those are the ones that govern your orders and your balance. This page is the fine print for the guide, and the market's fine print lives with the market. Reading both is the complete picture, and the two are short enough to read in the same sitting.
